Volenteering at the Hot Chocolate Run

By March 5, 2017Blog

On March 5th 2017, The brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon came in the early morning to volunteer at the annual Hot Chocolate Run 5k/15k. The Hot Chocolate run started in 2008 in Chicago Illinois and has since spread throughout the country. We wanted to support Make-A-Wish® which is the official race charity of the Hot Chocolate Run 15k/5k! If you would like to participate please visit https://www.hotchocolate15k.com/seattle to register or for more information.

Our shifts began at 6:00 A.M. In the cold and rain, the brothers started by helping other volunteers check in. After all of the volunteers were checked in, the brothers moved to work at the coat/bag check in where they worked the rest of their shifts.

Here are what some of our volunteers had to say about the event:
“I thought it was pretty chill” – Kent (Alpha Eta)
“Chilly, fun, but disappointed about not getting hot chocolate” – Robert (Alpha Eta)
“Glad we were all able to bond with the new class and help our local community reach their goals too” -Rey (Alpha Epsilon)
“It was a great bonding experience I liked the free sweaters too” -Randy R (Alpha Eta)
