Lambda Phi Epsilon is the first and only Asian American interest fraternity on campus that is capable of performing step. Step shows are another example of how Greek letter organizations show their unity through a complex rhythm of stomps, claps, and beats. The Lambdas Step Team at the University of Washington boasts a well known presence within the university and campus communities. This year the step team has performed for the annual Step Out Against Domestic Violence show, hosted by the ladies of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority. Additionally the UW Lambdas Step Team was featured as a final act to perform in the Seattle Center House to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. As a result of promoting principles of unified brotherhood and cultural appreciation, the UW Lambdas Step Team graced the cover of Northwest Asian Weekly. (Joining the UW Lambdas Step Team is completely optional, yet those who partook in it found their experiences rewarding.) They’re unstoppable.

The Rho Chapter of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc is excited to host our 3rd Annual Step Out Against Violence! Step Out was started in 2008 by our sister Thu Nguyen who felt that domestic violence was an issue that needed more viability in the community. Domestic violence occurs when a family member, partner or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate another. Domestic violence often refers to violence between spouses, or spousal abuse but can also include cohabitants and non-married intimate partners. This year is the first year we will be hosting this event as a competition. Admission is free! But donations are welcome and strongly encouraged. 100% of the profits will be going to V-Day.org to help the Women of Congo. We will be having a special Vagina Monologue Congo piece performed by the Asian Pacific Islander Women & Family Safety Center! Step Out will be an amazing show that will be featuring step, stroll and dance! We will have amazing guest speakers as well as great performances!
