Lobby Day 2011

By February 13, 2011Blog

Brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon headed to lobby in Olympia on Friday, February 10th with a mission in mind: to protect state funding for higher education. That morning, Lambdas met with their respective district legislators to discuss the future state of tuition, support for financial aid, and investment in education. Later on in the day, Lambdas stood at the forefront of a student-led rally on the Capitol Steps to make a bold statement to their elected state officials. The event, coordinated through the Associated Students of the University of Washington Office of Government Affairs, provided a great opportunity to learn about the legislature and the power of the student voice. Placing utmost value in civic engagement and student advocacy, Lambda Phi Epsilon truly lives to its motto of becoming “Leaders Among Men.”
